DraStic – Nintendo DS Emulator for Android

Playing Nintendo DS games on an Android device could be fun. Till some days ago, the Android OS didn’t have any emulators for DS. It was recently that Enter Exophase released a DS emulator for Android, named DraStic.

DraStic users can customize placement and the screen size for both portrait and landscape modes. It also supports add-on controllers and physical controllers like Nvidi Shield and Sony Xperia Play. You can also save your files on the Cloud with Google Drive Integration. All of this comes with a price tag of Rs.486, which I think is a reasonable price for something that Android users have waited so long for.

As any emulator out there, this one needs Nintendo DS BIOS files. The BIOS files are copyrighted. We recommend that you dump these files from a real Nintendo DS console. And, again you’ll need ROMs which can be dumped from carts you own or Google them.

As for the minimum system requirements, here it is:-

ARMv7a processor with NEON support
256 MB RAM with atleast 256 MB free
320×480 resolution display
Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread

When it comes to processors, it includes any Cortex-A8, Coretx-A9 except Tegra 2, Cortex-A15, Scorpion or Krait processors, reports tech2. Apart from that Tegra 2, ARM11, Intel Atom and MIPS processors are not compatible. (28)
