HTC One Android 4.3 Pre-release version leaks
HTC had plans to update the US units of HTC One to Android 4.3 by the end of this September. The company had indeed been working on Android 4.3 as yesterday, i.e., on 26 August XDA’s recognised contributor LlabTooFeR leaked the pre-release version of Android 4.3 for HTC One for HTC Ones worldwide. The leaker, for now ha released the Firmware as a Custom ROM – Maximus HD 12.1.0 and has promised to release the unaltered version on 28 August 10 am.
The Custom ROM is based on the unreleased Android 4.3 firmware version 3.09.401.11. The Custom ROM comes with HTC Sense 5 UI. The original update from HTC expected to roll out by the end of September might come with the same version of HTC Sense. Thus, Sense 5.5 might not debut on this version and we assume it’ll debut on HTC Zara.
While the changes in this version are unclear, many report that there aren’t many noticeable changes. Androidcentral reports that on this version you can use your own music for video highlight reels and Sense will sync picture changes to the beat of the track. Task Manager can now be seen on the App Drawer.
The ROM does come with standard Android 4.3 features like Wifi-based locations even when WiFi is turned off. At the same time, users claim to notice smoother performance and animations.
You’re free to download the ROM and try it at your own risk. But, read Things to do before installing or updating ROMs on Android. The links can be seen above. Stay tuned for more and leave your comments. (2)
